IGCSE & MYP Mathematics

An essential and a compulsory subject for every student undertaking the MYP programme.

IGCSE Mathematics is one of the core subject [Group 4: Mathematics & Creative], under the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.

Syllabus covered in IGCSE Mathematics:

Students have to attempt two papers irrespective of CORE or EXTENDED, below is a break-up of the weightage given to each paper.

With the plethora of choices, students can either opt for MYP Mathematics [Group 5], under the IB curriculum and also choose from STANDARD or EXTENDED mathematics. Extended mathematics provides the foundation for students wishing to pursue Maths at Higher Level in the IBDP.

The examination criteria is slightly different as compared to its counterpart i.e. IGCSE. From the year 2016, external moderation in terms of ‘eAssessment’ in all elements (such as ePortfolio of courseworks and on-screen examinations) of the programme is made optional. Successful results in the subject contributes to students’ IB MYP Certificate.

Students are graded from 7 to 1, with 7 being the highest and the criteria is as follows:
